Your Surf Trip at Siloinak Resort

Departures every Monday, Tuesday, Saturday
Transfers by ferry

Our Surf Trip begins at Padang Airport in Sumatra and end back at Padang Airport. It includes twin or single accommodation, 3 meals per day plus snacks, transfer by ferry and speedboat to the resort, daily transportation to the surf spots and guiding.

Not included: laundry, satellite internet and phone, soft drinks and beers, Visa fees, Airport and Mentawai Tourism Taxes.

Trips depart every Monday, Tuesday and Saturday at 14:00 (latest) from Padang Airport and come back to Padang Airport Monday at 12:00.(soonest) for your flight back home.

Day 1 - Arrival in Padang (Saturday or Tuesday)
A Siloinak Resort staff welcomes you at the airport. You are escorted to a comfortable open air bar with swimming pool until the transfer to the harbor at around 5 / 6 pm. The ferry to the Mentawai Islands leaves at 19:00 for a full night’s crossing.
If you arrive before the surf group’s departure (every Monday, Tuesday and Saturday) we will also assist you at the airport and transfer you to a hotel of your choice, until departure to the Mentawai. Note that the nights in Padang, if any, are not included in the price.
Day 2 - Arrival on Siloinak Island
The Tuesday and Saturday, the ferry is a modern, comfortable, reliable and on-time vessel with AC cabins of 2 and 4 bunks, one shared shower, by far the most comfortable way to travel 130 km (about 8/10 hours) to the Mentawai Archipelago. The Monday, the ferry is a traditional wooden ferry, uncomfortable and not-so-clean. For adventure-minded surfers only. The ferry reaches the harbor of Siberut or Tuapajat on the second day of your journey, at 8:00.
From the Siberut or Tuapajat harbor, our speedboats take you to Siloinak Resort, a 70/120 -minute boat ride. We will arrive around 13:00, right on time for lunch. Surf in the afternoon.
Day 3 to Day ... - Surf at Siloinak Island
Wake up with the sun, a good breakfast and your speedboat leaves around 8:00 for a full day of surf. Our speed boats take a maximum of 8 surfers each with your guide choosing the best spots according to the prevailing conditions and your ability.
Last day at Siloinak Resort
After lunch, transfer to Muara Siberut/Tupajat harbour.The ferry usually leaves between 17:00 and 19:00.
Last day of the Trip Arrival in Padang (Monday or Thursday)
Breakfast in Padang and transfer to the airport for travelers departing the same day, or to your hotel. End of our services at 18:00.

Optional day
If you whish to stay at Padang one day more, we propose you a day of discovery of the Minang Kabau culture in the green hills of Bukittinggi. Your guide and a driver will introduce you to coffee plantations, wood carving workshop, silversmiths, and songket workshops. Accommodation at Bukittinggi or Padang in a 1 or 3 stars Hotel. Lunch and dinner included.
End of Program - Flying back home
The next morning, after breakfast, your guide will pick you up at your hotel. Transfer to the airport for flying back home. Lunch and Dinner are not included.

 

Our 2009/2010 Prices (per person)
One day at the resort:
Surfers	: Group of 1 to 3 surfers:		180 USD per day
	: Group of 4 to 6 surfers:		160 USD per day
	: Group of 7 to 12 surfers:		140 USD per day
Non surfers:			- 50 USD per day
Single room:			+ 30 USD per day
Mentawai Surf Tax			5 USD per day

Arrival and departure days at the resort are counted half price. We usually surf some hours these days.

Transfers Padang Airport to the resort and back (one way):
Surfers and non-surfers	Group of 1 to 3 persons:	180 USD
	Group of 4 to 6 persons:	160 USD
	Group of 7 to 12 persons:	140 USD

The prices of the transfers include everything from Padang Airport to Siloinak Resort, by ferry.

We do not operate the transfers ourselves, being only the ticketing agents. Be aware that transfers to the Mentawai are THE headache of all Resort Manager in the Mentawai. The ferries are only 85% operational or on-time.
We do not take any responsibility in case of cancellation or delays of the ferries but will do whatever humanly possible to transfer you by speedboat, at a very high cost for us . (The transfer costs are around 1500 USD one way.) In case of real bad weather, we won`t go, for security reasons.

Until further notice we do not fly anymore to the Mentawais, the transfers by plane having proved too unreliable. Also, it is more surf-time efficient to arrive at Padang early afternoon and wake up in the Mentawai the following morning, than to spend the night in Padang and fly at some point the following day.
