Day 1 - Arrival in Padang
A Mentawai Surf staff member will welcome you at the airport and if necessary assist you in getting a visa.Your bags will be loaded into vans and you will be escorted to a comfortable hotel for a shower and rest until the transfer to the harbour at around 7 pm.The ferry to the Mentawai Islands leaves between 8 and 10 pm for a full night’s crossing. Meanwhile, we will visit Padang’s old city and Market.
If you arrive several days before the surf group’s departure, (every Monday), we will also assist you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel, booked at your own cost.
Day 2 - Arrival on Siloinak Island
The ferry offers basic cabins of four to six bunks.This is, however, the most comfortable way to travel the 130 km (about 10 hours) to the Mentawai Archipelago.The ferry reaches Siberut Island on the second day of your journey, at 7 or 8 am.
From the Muara Siberut harbor, our speedboats take you to Siloinak Island, about a 40-minute boat ride. However, the departure timetable of the ferry is subject to changes due to pending major cargo, motor maintenance or weather conditions. In the event the ferry is grounded, we will use our speedboats to make the crossover to Siloinak Island.The trip should take from 5 to 6 hours.The speedboat’s departure time will vary according to the weather and sea conditions.We may leave Day 1 at around 11 am and reach Siloinak at about 4 pm.We may also leave Day 2 at 5 am.You will then spend the first night at the hotel, either at Padang or at Bungus Beach (a 45 minute drive). In this case, the cost of accommodation is included in our price. We will surf in the afternoon of Day 2.
Day 2 to Day 15- Surf at Siloinak Island (7 days)
Wake up with the sun, a good breakfast and your speedboat leaves around 7 a.m for a full day of surf.The surfers are usually divided into two groups, to keep numbers to a minimum and adapt the program to their level.Your guide will choose the best spots according to the prevailing conditions.
You will reach them after a 10 to 30 minute-sail. Our speedboats, equipped with two powerful outboard engines, offer an incredible flexibility in the choice of waves.
Day 16- Back to Padang
After lunch, transfer to Muara Siberut.The ferry leaves between 8 and 10 pm. In case there is no ferry, departure by speedboat at 5 am, to make sure you arrive in Padang in time. In this case, the night’s accommodation in Padang or Bungus is included in the price.
Day 17 - End of Program
Breakfast in Padang and transfer to the airport for travelers departing the same day. End of our services at 2 pm.
